Training Doula Canada
Hello! I’m Kirstie, a proud mama to two daughters, and Elmsdale is where I call home. I’ve always been curious about people—what drives their choices and decisions. This curiosity led me to study Sociology in university, where I explored and researched the reasons behind human behaviour.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by pregnancy, motherhood, and babies. My journey to becoming a doula began with the support I received from my own doula, who empowered me to trust my body, its strength, and the natural wisdom of pregnancy and birth. After the birth of my second daughter, I experienced a deep shift in myself and realized I wanted to contribute to something bigger than myself. Over time, I discovered that my true passion is in creating safe, supportive space—physically, emotionally, and mentally—where birthing people can advocate for themselves and have the birth experience that feels right for them, whatever that might look like. Whether you’re planning an induction, a medicated birth, a cesarean, or an unmediated experience, I believe every birth is unique and should be honored with respect and care.
As a cisgender, straight white woman, I recognize my privilege and am committed to being a strong ally to marginalized communities. No matter who you are or how you identify, I would be truly honored to support you through your pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum journey.
If you have any questions or would like to book a consult, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d love to connect with you!

Hello! My name is Brooke El Skaf and I’m the doula behind Beltane Birth Doula Services. I provide full-spectrum doula support to families in the Halifax area. Bringing home a new baby can be a wonderfully exciting and overwhelming time. While many of us also have friends and family members we can call upon to support us, most of us no longer live in the same supportive communities of care we once had in the past. Hiring a postpartum doula is one way to feel cared for and supported during this major life transition. As a former NICU and pediatrics nurse, I can help with feeding, newborn and postpartum education, household support, light meal prep, and emotional support to help you get your footing in this strange and wonderful new time in your life. As someone with celiac disease, I also specialize in providing meal prep support for families with celiac disease, gluten intolerance, and other food sensitivities. If you’d like to learn more, here’s how you can set up a call with me to schedule a free consultation: https://calendly.com/beltanebirth

Hi. I'm Nicole West and I've loved everything baby for as long as I can remember. I began babysitting as soon as I was old enough and I realized, even at a young age, that I wanted to work with babies and children.
After graduating from NSCC in 2017 with a diploma in Child and Youth Care I worked in various positions supporting children and youth with mental illness, and behavioural challenges.
I have a strong background in trauma informed care, child development, and child play.
In 2024 I started the journey of becoming a birth and postpartum Doula.
I strive to advocate for and support clients through their journey of pregnancy and child birth as well as coping with postpartum.
I have certification in lactation and breastfeeding, infection prevention and first aid .
I am a military spouse and I understand the struggles that come along when left alone due to deployment.
I am looking forward to furthering my education and experiences as well as being able to share all of this with my clients

Trena’s passion for birth and babies began at a very young age, when she frequently offered her family pets doula support (much to their dismay) and helped care for the many foster babies who her parents welcomed into their home. After graduating from university, she began pursuing her education in birth and postpartum, and has been supporting families for over 20 years. Trena continued on to become a Birth and Postpartum Doula Trainer and established one of less than 30 international Lamaze Educator programs. Despite her many years of formal education, her most influential teachers continue to be her partner and their four amazing children.
Trena is also an Infant Massage Instructor, Sleep Educator, Lactation Educator, Hypnobirthing Practitioner, Lamaze Childbirth Educator, Lamaze Program Director and Yoga Instructor.

Wanda Cox began her journey as a birth doula in 1999, after she learned of the positive impact they can have on birth outcomes- both physically & emotionally! She knows that being; listened to, central in decision making, and well supported goes such a long way! Despite her formal training, the families she serves remain her best source of learning and appreciates that the needs of each family are truly unique. Wanda loves supporting families all over the Atlantic Provinces (and beyond) by teaching Evidence Based Birth® childbirth classes- virtually! Wanda is a Lactation Educator (CAPPA), Certified Infant Massage Instructor and a Lamaze Certified Childbirth Instructor. Connect to see how she can support you along your journey.

I am pursuing my passion of supporting folks through their prenatal, birth and postpartum stages of life. Having had twins and being the president of the Parents of Multiple Births Association (POMBA) has inspired me to focus most of my business on parents of multiples who seem to have to think about a few more strategies to survive the 4th trimester than what singleton parents do. I have a wealth of knowledge about everything prenatal which also means that I do not limit my services to multiples. I pride myself on offering a tailored experience based on your own needs by offering you a chance to make the best informed decision that fits your preferences. Being based out of East Hants, I offer support locally or in neighbouring areas of Halifax or Truro.
